MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
Mexicali Outreach: In conjunction with Azusa Pacific University, we travel to the Mexicali Valley during Spring Break to minist alongside a local church. Our students plan and facilitate a Vacation Bible School for the children of the church and an evening service for the adults. We also do various outreach activities and community service projects in the afternoons. The Mexicali Outreach program has four different base camps where students are housed. We stay in the town of Madero along with about 600 other students. It is at our base camp where we eat and have our own Chapel times before and after our time in our ministry site.
Team Extreme - Mexico City: Every three years we take a two-week long trip to Mexico City to work with the Lampas missionaries whose ministry is with the street kids. For several days we visit the many sites where the street kids live. The Lampas Team owns a camp about two hours outside the city and for a week during our trip we serve as counselors for a street kids camp at the property. It is heartbreaking to hear these kids' stories, who live on the streets for a variety of reasons. During our time in Mexico our prayer is that we can be an encouragement to the Lampas missionaries and a light to the street kids living in a very dark world.
